Whole Foods Market Inc. will open a 30,000-square-foot flagship store in the Southern California city of Tarzana next week.
The Austin-based natural foods grocer said the newest location will open at 18700 W. Ventura Blvd. on May 12 at 9 a.m. The Tarzana Whole Foods will include a 40-seat wine tasting bar with tapas and wine, beer and sake by the glass.
Officials also said the store will feature "the largest olive bar in Los Angeles" and daily offerings of fresh-baked lavash and breads. Like its Austin headquarters, the Los Angeles area grocer will include a large sit-down eating area and several food bars including fresh-made Persian, Armenian, Greek, Thai, Mexican, Italian, Indian and North African. The store will also have a coffee bar, brewed kombucha bar and trail mix bar.
