AKRON, OH – Hickory Harvest Foods is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric McGrath to Vice President of Operations; and the hiring of Michelle Smith as Confectionery Sales Manager.
Eric McGrath joined Hickory Harvest in 2015 as Director of Operations with more than 10 years of manufacturing, supply chain management, IT, and finance experience in the food manufacturing industry. Since joining Hickory Harvest Foods, McGrath was influential in the expansion of the Akron-based facility for its new chocolate and yogurt enrobing product lines as well as panning production.
In his role as Vice President of Operations, McGrath oversees production, procurement, operations and information technology for the manufacturer of roasted nuts, trail mixes, snacks and candies.
“Eric’s expertise has been instrumental in preparing the company for growth with expanded product lines and enhanced food safety programs,” said Joe Swaitkowski, president of Hickory Harvest Foods. “With Eric’s support, Hickory Harvest Foods is positioned to continue to expand into new markets and products.”
McGrath holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Dayton and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Ohio University. A native of Tipp City, Ohio, McGrath lives in Medina, Ohio with his wife Jodi and their daughter.

Smith joins the company with more than ten years of confectionery sales and customer service experience. As confectionery sales manager, Smith will manage confectionery accounts throughout the United States.

Smith resides in Fowlerville, MI with her husband and children.
