Australian Abattoir Gets Approval To Export Beef To The United States

The only abattoir in the Kimberley region of Western Australia has just received approval to export beef to the United States.

The Kimberley Meat Company's abattoir, at Yeeda Station between Broome and Derby was officially opened about a year ago, and at the moment is processing about 500 to 600 cattle per week.

Owner Jack Burton, said the US approval was a "big ticket item" for the operation and something the company had been working towards all year.
