New Owners Of Indiana's Dutch Maid Bakery Committed To Quality

GOSHEN — Though it has been nearly four months, few customers at Dutch Maid Bakery have realized that the face of the business’s ownership changed May 1. Jerry and Merilee Nixon, owners of the bakery for over 17 years, sold it to Lyle and Gretchen Miller of LaGrange.

The bakery, which sells an average of 500 dozen donuts daily, offers a café-style dining area as well as regular deliveries to local businesses like gas stations, hotels and hospitals. All baked goods are made in-house, including homemade icings and fillings.

The Millers entered talks with the Nixons after Lyle asked at his bank if there might be a business in the area that could offer him a similar workplace to his bread route for Aunt Millie’s Bakery, but with better hours.
