DOWNERS GROVE, IL – All-America Selections, the only non-profit trialing organization for plants that demonstrate great garden performance throughout all of North America, is now accepting entries into their 2018-2021 (three winter) Herbaceous Perennial trial.
Now is the time to enter your new, never-before-sold herbaceous perennial variety in the All-America Selections-Perennial Plant Association Herbaceous Perennial Trial. Each entry will be trialed in North America by at least twenty-four professional, independent, volunteer judges who grow them next to comparisons that are considered best-in-class.
Perennial guru Dr. Allan Armitage has this to say about the AAS-PPA Herbaceous Perennial trial: “As competitive as the horticulture business is, we must work as one in supporting efforts that keep consumers interested in us. Participating in the AAS Trials helps all of us, it is inexpensive and AAS is effective in reaching large groups of potential plant users. Staying on the sidelines does nothing for anybody; let’s do this together. “
You’ll be in good company if your entry is deemed an AAS Winner. The companies below are just a few of the many to have AAS Winners (annuals, edibles and perennials) in the past few years:
Do you have a new, never before sold in North America variety that may be worthy of an AAS Winner designation? If so, enter it now for the 2018 AAS Trial.
AAS entries are “Tested Nationally & Proven Locally™” so a consumer is assured of superior garden performance when planting AAS Winners. This long list of promotions surrounding each AAS Winner is a very lengthy reason to enter the AAS Trials!
Breeder entry information is easily found on the AAS Website. Entry forms can be found here.
Herbaceous Perennial entries are due by September 1, 2017.
If interested in AAS’ one-season trials, those are due November 1, 2017 and those entry forms can be found here.

All-America Selections® was founded in 1932 and continues as the oldest independent testing organization in North America. Every year, new, never-before-sold in North America varieties are trialed in our Trial Grounds and professional horticulturists determine which varieties will be deemed winners based on their garden performance. AAS relies upon a public relations program to inform gardeners about AAS Winners that are announced three times each year.
