Eco Farms Partners With Local Brewery In 5th Annual Avocado Festival

Los Angeles, CA – The 5th annual Avocado Festival took place this past weekend at Angel City Brewery – just a few blocks away from the Los Angeles Produce Market in the Arts District in Los Angeles. While the brewery has earned a good reputation for making delicious beers, the Avocado Ale remains one of its most popular.

This year the Festival was 2 full days and there was a variety of Avocado-inspired dishes that were served by local food trucks and chefs to compliment the Avocado Ale. There were also a dozen artists who produced and sold Avocado-inspired Art including jewelry, paintings, posters, apparel and more.  The Avocado beer itself was made with Fresh California grown Avocados, Honey, Cilantro, Peppers and Lime juice. Fresh ingredients are a more and more common theme in beers these days, particularly Craft Breweries. Angel City Brewery also produces a Honey Grapefruit and often uses Melons, Blueberries, Oranges, and other fresh ingredients in their beer to complement their flavorful beers. Eco Farms represented California Avocado farmers and the industry as a whole while engaging attendees about the growing, harvesting, ripening and distributing of Avocados as well as information on uses and recipes.

Gahl Crane, Sales Director at Eco Farms stated:

“People are very enthusiastic about Avocados and it was very enjoyable for our team to participate in a really great event like this. We gave out Avocado Slicers, recipe booklets, and sold Ripe Avocados picked in our farms just a couple days prior to the festival.” Gahl added “Eco Farms is happy to partner with businesses like Angel City brewery who are dedicated to producing delicious products while also working hard to raise money to help those in need.” Eco Farms donated all funds from their Avocado sales to a local non-profit that seeks to help people to grow their own fruits and vegetables though the construction of community gardens in Southern California.  Gahl added “Giving kids and families the resources and knowledge to grow their own food sets them up for a life-long love of fresh fruit and vegetables and the Ron Finely project is dedicated to that cause.”
