New York Quarterly Milk Production Increases

Dairy farmers in New York saw an increase in production during the most recently completed quarter, according to new data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The April-June preliminary milk production report from the USDA said New York experienced a 2.3-percent increase over the same period of 2016, with 3.845 billion pounds produced this year. That milk came from 624,000 head of cattle, which was up by 4,000.

New York's productivity increase outpaced the national rate, which grew by 1.8 percent.
