Winners were announced on April 19, 2017, with Pastrami Smoked Salmon honored under the Seafood category. This encompasses ready-to-eat, heat-and-serve, and uncooked seafood products.
The Specialty Food Association (SOFI) has been advancing and recognizing culinary excellence and creativity since 1972. Its distinguished sofi™ Award is considered the “Oscars” of specialty food, with gold status signifying the highest possible honor. This year’s winners were selected from 3,000 entries and judged by a panel of 62 culinary experts. Winners were chosen by blind tasting and are considered game changers and true innovators in their category.
