ProFlowers Head Floral Designer Awarded Top Prize In Annual Art Alive Floral Exhibition

SAN DIEGO — ProFlowers' (NASDAQ: FTD) head floral designer and Merchandising Product Design Director Kate Law has been awarded the top prize at the Art Alive Floral Exhibition. The San Diego Museum of Art hosts the annual event which brings the museum's permanent collection to life through floral designs. It features more than 100 floral interpretations of famous works of art. Law's Floral interpretation of Female Nude Reading (1915) by Robert Delaunay was named the winner of the exhibition by popular vote of museum members. The win exemplifies Law's expertise in floral design.

To bring her version to life, Law worked with a ProFlowers partner farm in Sun Valley, Calif. to source in-season flowers for the piece. Citrus colors are trending in floral design and Kate was immediately drawn to the magnificent shades of orange and yellow flowers. She utilized a large, curvy vase to represent the woman's physique in the painting. Law incorporated orange, yellow and white calla lilies, dubiums and tulips to mimic the woman's hair, ultimately creating the award-winning arrangement. Law brought to life the movement in this particular art piece through a unique design and was inspired by the bright, bold strokes of color and the energy the painting exuded.

"It was such an honor to be named the winner this year," Law said. "Being able to explore my own imagination and bring a piece of artwork to life was inspiring. I love having a career where I get to be creative every day and push the limits of floral design."

Law's love of flowers stems from a childhood spent alongside her mother, a Master Gardener. With more than a decade of experience working in the floral industry, she now uses her extensive knowledge to design a myriad of bouquets that appeal to the wide range of customers at ProFlowers. She leads the team of floral "profreshionals" who use their artistic skills to design beautiful arrangements for every occasion, including Mother's Day, making it easy for customers to gift mom with the best this holiday.
