LOUDON, NH – When you stake your claim as the freshest baby greens in New England, you better be able to back that up. And there’s no better way to do that than by assembling the best team possible. Which is why l?f Farms is excited to announce the appointment of Kyle Scamman as the company’s Production Manager.
With 17 years of farming and growing experience under his belt, Scamman brings to l?f a plethora of skills. Growing up on his family’s New Hampshire farm, he learned the value of hard work and the importance of maintaining a well-tuned operation. His studies at UCCS Colorado Springs taught him how to manage the many sides of a business, from resources to processes. All of which prepared him for the fast-paced rigors of greenhouse production.
As l?f’s Production Manager, Scamman will be responsible for running the growing and harvesting system, while working through updates and process improvements. His education makes him the ideal instructor for others on how to work with the various operating systems. Scamman will also be accountable for coordinating production schedules and implementing the company’s food safety plan, with a focus on maintaining an efficient use of resources and producing a clean and safe product.
“We love the versatility Kyle brings to our team, states l?f President and CEO, Henry Huntington. “His ability to understand the big picture, while simultaneously seeing the finer details gives us the best of both worlds as we strive to produce the best greens possible.”
Prior to becoming l?f’s production manager, Scamman served in the company’s maintenance department, which yields an intimate familiarity with the greenhouse that’s second to none. As part of the l?f team from day one of construction, Scamman’s unique understanding of the facility – from heating line installation to the design of the watering and fog system – helps him effectively manage production in this state-of-the-art greenhouse.
“Kyle brings a level of precision and patience that’s critical to implementing new technology, such as ours,” muses l?f’s Vice President and COO, Bob LaDue. “His background in farming and leadership has prepared him to perform at a high level, and promotes the kind of daily collaboration we need to produce our premium product.”
