Sharon Food Distributors has acquired Boston-based S.M. Sneider Co., a food-service distributor to restaurants in the Boston area.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Both businesses operate out of the New Boston Food Market at Widett Circle. Founded in 1986, S.M. Sneider distributes poultry, meats, fish, dairy and other specialty products. The family business with roughly 15 employees, including founder Stanley Sneider, will continue to operate out of its current location at 53 Foodmart Road. Sharon Foods, a regional wholesale distributor founded in 1983 with 25 employees, operates at 7 Foodmart Road.
