Knoxville shoppers had some mixed views of a Kroger announcement that it is discontinuing its double coupon policy and eliminating its weekly senior discount days.
The double whammy changes, announced Wednesday, will be effective March 15 in all Kroger stores in the Nashville region, which includes 96 stores in Middle and East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and Northern Alabama, according to Kroger spokeswoman Melissa Eads.
Knoxville's Katie Van Dyke, who does the CouponKatie.com website devoted to finding the best coupon deals, said it is too early to say if the Kroger changes will save shoppers money but she will be watching how things develop.
