CSM Bakery Solutions will close its Sugar Land food manufacturing facility closer to March 31 than the originally announced October 2016 date.
The Texas Workforce Commission reported Monday that CSM Bakery Solutions will lay off 147 people, and spokesman Dennis Murphy confirmed that the Atlanta-based company was able to adjust its manufacturing footprint to keep the local facility open longer than previously expected.
CSM serves customers in more than 100 countries. It provides specialized ingredients, including dry mixes, fillings, icings, glazes and mélange, and it bakes finished products such as cakes, doughnuts, brownies and specialty breads.
