Two Chinese investors are understood to be circling the Australasian fruit and vegetable supplier Freshmax, which is up for sale by Maui Capital for a price now known to be between $NZ250 million ($240.5m) and $NZ350m ($337m).
There was speculation the company was contemplating an Initial Public Offering with a value of $NZ500m ($481m) but it is now understood a float of the business is unlikely.
The information memorandums for the sale are out and first round bids are due in the next few weeks.
