JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown specialty foods company is a defendant in lawsuits concerning the purchase of cattle and bison meat and default of a $1 million loan.
Pioneer Specialty Foods LLC, owned by Clair and Cathy Hull, is being sued by two ranchers in South Dakota; a Sidney, Neb., company involved in the sale and delivery of meats; and the First National Bank of Johnstown, which, according to information filed with the Weld County District Court, has not received any payments on a $1 million loan it gave Pioneer in January 2007. In all, the company is in arrears of about $1.5 million.
Clair Hull, who is seeking re-election to a second term on the Johnstown Town Board, said he is trying “to get things worked out” involving the lawsuits and added, “There are some unfortunate things involved here that I can't get into at the time. These are all good people, and we are working on getting things worked out with them.”
