In 1981, Country Oven Bakery opened its Bowling Green facility, producing baked goods for Kroger stores and employing about 175 people.
Now, the factory employs about 450 people and will soon add 33 jobs and 63,000 square feet to its 177,000-square-foot facility on Pioneer Drive.
While many companies have struggled over the past couple of years, Country Oven Bakery has grown. Demand for its products has increased as Kroger sales continue to climb. Country Oven supplies Kroger stores across the nation.
