On the 2nd of November 2016 the popular International Floriculture and Horticulture Trade Fair (www.iftf.nl) will open its doors for three days, to welcome 25,000 international visitors. IFTF World of Flowers will offer the floral stimulus, while more than 100 exhibitors from all over the world display their services, at the Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen – not far from Amsterdam.
The World of Flowers, organized by Green Team Consultancy+ at IFTF, has developed into an attractive large-scale event for florists over the past three years. Alongside the necessary first-class floral inspiration, visitors can connect with companies that provide innovative and practical business solutions.
Floral Art
A floral design competition is on the agenda at IFTF: 12 florists will be competing for the Wim Hazelaar Trophy (on 2 and 3 November). Every morning, furthermore, children will be visiting the Market Square and will be taught floristry in the Auditorium. And visitors can experience floral demonstrations in the central Market Square during the entire three days.
Seducing the Next Generation
Good news for florists with an eye on the future: the innovative Flower Lab (www.theflowerlab.org) has captured a prominent spot at IFTF 2016. The high-tech Lab convincingly shows you how to seduce the millennial (20-35 years of age) into buying flowers and plants, based on state-of-the-art consumer research.
Meet the Florist Associations of Europe!
Florist associations from no less than 8 European nations will be ready to meet you in the Florint lounge, to explain all they (can) do for you. Florint is the International Florist Organisation: an overarching non-profit that promotes the health of the floral retail industry (see: www.florint.org).
