Sugar River Dairy in Albany made yogurt for more than a dozen years. It was celebrated by restaurants and media alike for its tangy, clean-flavored yogurt.
But this summer, the dairy quietly closed. Most people barely noticed the news item, published in late July, about a recall of Sugar River Dairy yogurt by the Division of Food and Recreational Safety in the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP).
The charge wasn't that the product was bad. It was that the label was misleading.
