Watson Announces Round Table Discussions At IBIE 2016

West Haven, CT – Watson Inc. will be holding three roundtable discussions at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE).  IBIE is produced by the American Bakers Association (ABA) and the Baking Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA). The exposition takes place in Las Vegas, NV from October 8 to 11, 2016.

The first in this series of round tables will be facilitated by Michael Saulsberry, Vice President of the Bakery Ingredients Division at Watson.  The title of this session is “Clean Label Baking – What’s Next?”  Saulsberry will lead the discussion exploring new technologies and innovations which will allow bakers to continue to develop new products that will appeal to consumers looking for clean-label products.  The clean label discussion will take place on Saturday, October 8th, at 2 PM Pacific Time.

The second roundtable will take place on Sunday, October 9th, at 2 PM Pacific Time.  The topic will be “Applications for Custom Nutrient Premixes in Baking, to Appeal to Health-conscious Consumers”.  This round table discussion will be lead by Watson Vice President of Nutritional Innovation, Alice Wilkinson. Participants will discuss how fortification of baked goods can provide opportunities for growth and market expansion into the healthy foods, personalized nutrition, and high-protein markets. Wilkinson is one of the foremost industry-recognized experts in the field of nutritional formulation.

The final roundtable will tackle the question of “The Gluten-Free Market – Is This an Opportunity for You?” The challenges and opportunities presented by this market will be discussed.  Market-trend data and market size will be covered, as well innovations and next-generation products.
