Seeking to showcase the most innovative, leadership-focused retail and wholesale individuals in the industry, National Confectioners Association members are encouraged to nominate their best customer for the 2017 Confectionery Leadership Award.
NCA, in collaboration with Candy & Snack TODAY, offers the Confectionery Leadership Award as a vehicle to honor and call out top customers on an industry-wide level for their effective business collaboration, category management best practices and innovations in merchandising confectionery products in-store.
“Our industry deeply values retailers, for it’s their energy and passion for the category that brings the experience to life with consumers,” said Larry Wilson, NCA’s vice president of industry affairs. “The Confectionery Leadership Award recognizes those individuals who set the standard when it comes to leadership and innovation. We look forward to engaging with these distinguished professionals throughout the year.”
Confectionery Leadership Award honorees will be promoted year-round by NCA, including Candy & Snack TODAY magazine. Award recipients will also participate in the taste panel at the Sweets & Snacks Expo’s Most Innovative New Product Awards and have a presence on the Candy & Snack TODAY editorial board.
Last year’s recipients of the prestigious award were Julie Bierman from Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Jennifer Dilts from Dollar General Corp. Other past recipients include Mike Maslen, Paul Minger, John Scardina, Dave Schulze and Val Stansfield.
2017 Confectionery Leadership Award nominations are now being accepted through Tuesday, October 11. The awards will be presented in Miami at NCA’s annual State of the Industry Conference, the most elite industry gathering where hundreds of the brightest minds meet in March to network with their colleagues and gain invaluable insights to apply to their businesses.
