In an environment of camaraderie and professionalism, the 9th. Issue of AMHPAC’s Annual Convention was held, from August 24-26 in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico gathering close to 400 members of the protected horticulture industry.
The very crowded opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the State Government of Quintana Roo, SAGARPA, FOCIR, Agroasemex, SIAP, FIRA and SENASICA, who formally kicked off the event.
General Ordinary Meeting
During the 9th. General Ordinary Meeting, held in Cancun on August 25, the new Board of Directors took oath. This Board is composed of growers from different states of Mexico, such as Querétaro, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Coahuila, among others.

In his farewell message, the outgoing President, Juan Ariel Reyes Rábago committed to continue supporting and working closely with the new Board of Directors and thanked the support given by his family, work team and staff of the AMHPAC.
For his part, the incoming President, Óscar Woltman de Vries, who represents the company Hortinvest México, took the new office after having served as secretary of the Board of Directors for three years. He stated that in the coming period, the focus will be on 5 areas.
AMHPAC’s Annual Convention
This year in particular, the organizing committee was responsible for preparing and offering a variety of activities to attendees, including a cocktail reception by the sea shore, the 3rd. AMHPAC Race 5k and 10k, participating over 80 people and a theme dinner (Mayan Jungle), where attendees enjoyed a prehispanic show and had the chance of spending the night between friends.
