Springdale, AR Rodger Starnes, vice president of foodservice marketing and customer development, Tyson Foods, Inc., was recently appointed to The National Chicken Council (NCC) marketing committee. Starnes will serve a one-year term.
Starnes joined Tyson Foods in 1999 as the director of customer development national accounts, and now leads the Tyson Food Service marketing team. His team is responsible for strategy development, brand growth, consumer insights, product and culinary innovation, customer development and communication. From national accounts to foodservice distribution, the Tyson Food Service marketing and customer development team is charged with adding value and support to help its customers succeed.
The NCC marketing committee is made up of representatives from its member companies. The group meets twice a year to evaluate the current sales and marketing climate of the chicken industry and to provide recommendations to the NCC board of directors regarding priority issues. The committee aids in determining the best methods to educate retail consumers and foodservice operators on exciting new developments in the world of chicken.
