Lets make an Easter pledge: We wont put a fully cooked spiral sliced ham in
the oven for two hours.
We wont dry out the ham to shoe-leather quality; and thats not just a clich,
its a bad taste.
Can you tell I feel strongly about this.
I went online to see what Carando, makers of the popular, fully-cooked Spiral
Sliced Hams that will appear on so many tables come Sunday, suggests on the
subject. They say heat the oven to 275 degrees. Place ham in a shallow roasting
pan. (Quarter and half hams should be cooked flat/face side down and whole hams
cooked fat side up.) Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for approximately 15 minutes
per pound until heated through.
