Des Moines, Iowa. Rogue Creamery has won 6 Awards at the 33nd Annual American Cheese Society (ACS) Competition and Judging. Four blue cheeses were awarded; both Echo Mountain Blue and Flora Nelle Blue won 2nd Place awards and Caveman Blue and the new Tolman Blue won 3rd Place Awards. The 2 Year Aged Organic Cheddar and the Rogue Creamery original cheese, Smokey TouVelle, also won 3rd Place Awards. The ACS competition is the largest cheese contest in North America and was held in Des Moines, Iowa; the competition featured 1,843 entries, the largest number of entries ever, from 260 producers.
At the awards celebration immediately after the competition, co-owner and president, David Gremmels, exclaimed that “it is a true honor for Rogue Creamery's team members to bring home to Oregon 6 awards in Blue, Cheddar, Mixed Milk and Smoked Cheese categories. These awards are a reflection of hard work, quality and passion from Rogue Creamery's dairy, cheese make and affinage”.
