McLEAN, Va. – To celebrate the ever-popular grilling season, The National Fisheries Institute’s (NFI) Salmon Council partnered with popular food bloggers – This Week for Dinner and Julie’s Eats & Treats – to ensure salmon is top-of-mind for consumers all summer long.
With family vacations and backyard parties galore, consumers are searching throughout the season for the perfect summer meal. Whether eating at a restaurant while on vacation, or celebrating at a neighborhood block party, grilled salmon is the perfect complement.
Get Grilling
In addition to locking arms with online influencers, The Salmon Council also partnered with McCormick Grill Mates® to highlight the variety of bold flavors that compliment salmon. Blogger ambassadors were challenged to use at least one McCormick Grill Mates® product to create a summer-inspired grilled salmon recipe.
“At-home cooks, restaurant chefs and grill masters nationwide know salmon is as versatile as it is delicious and nutritious,” said Judy Dashiell, Senior Vice President with NFI. “By partnering with a household brand like McCormick and incorporating online influencers, we have the opportunity to inspire consumers with new flavor ideas for salmon dishes that are guaranteed to be a hit.
“We want to encourage consumers to think outside the box when it comes to salmon preparation, and the expertise of the bloggers paired with delicious salmon and McCormick’s unique seasonings helped us accomplish that goal.”
Upon firing up their grills and highlighting the Grill Mates product of each blogger’s choosing, The Salmon Council’s ambassadors developed the following recipes:
– Brown Sugar Bourbon Salmon and Pecan Salad, by This Week for Dinner
– Teriyaki Salmon and Broccoli Bowls, by Julie’s Eats & Treats
Exposure for this custom content, which was pushed out on ambassadors’ blogs and amplified across social channels run by The Salmon Council, McCormick and the ambassadors, has reached nearly 3,807,784 impressions to date with new shares daily.
