PMA Foodservice Conference & Expo Sells Out

Newark, Del. —  The exposition and Fresh Ideas Showcase at Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) Foodservice Conference and Expo have sold out. In addition, an industry young professional, Breanna DeVita with AMC North America, has been awarded Center for Growing Talent by PMA’s (CGTbyPMA) Joe Stubbs scholarship to attend the event.

The Foodservice Conference and Expo will convene July 29-31 in Monterey, Calif.

Largest innovative product turnout in foodservice conference history

This year, the sold-out expo will include 202 booths jam-packed and painting the show floor with color, creativity and stunning displays, which makes it the largest expo in the event’s history.

Exhibitors will share their latest products and services with decision makers from both the fresh produce and foodservice industries. Nearly a quarter of the expo this year will be made up of first-time exhibitors bringing even more new products and services for grower-shippers, wholesalers, distributors, foodservice operators and more to experience the fresh ideas contributing to growth of the industry.

The Fresh Ideas Showcase has also sold out. The showcase will feature innovative fresh produce products and is the event’s largest-ever showcase.

“Between the Expo and the Fresh Ideas Showcase, conference participants will have many opportunities to see the latest innovations in fresh produce and create more demand for fruits and vegetables at foodservice,” says PMA President Cathy Burns. “A huge thank you to our conference chairs, volunteer leaders, sponsors, exhibitors, program speakers, and attendees from across the supply chain for supporting what looks to be another record-setting event. I truly appreciate your engagement and I look forward to seeing you in Monterey this weekend!”

CGTbyPMA young professional receives Joe Stubbs scholarship

One young professional was selected as the recipient of the Joe Stubbs Scholarship, which honors Joe Stubbs, a preeminent PMA and foodservice leader who played a role in the creation of this event. DeVita, the 2016 scholarship recipient, will attend the conference for the first time.

“Thank you to the Produce Marketing Association for their generous contributions which will allow me to attend the 2016 Foodservice Conference and Expo,” says DeVita. “I am honored to have been chosen as the Joe Stubbs scholarship recipient this year and look forward to representing the Center for Growing Talent by PMA and AMC Direct as I walk the show. I am truly grateful for this opportunity to form new relationships with key members of the produce industry and the experience of learning from so many talented individuals.”

"Joe was passionate about this industry and this event, and he also understood the importance of leadership development. This scholarship honors his legacy by providing an outstanding leadership development opportunity to a deserving young professional. We’re thrilled to have Breanna join us,” said CGTbyPMA Executive Director Margi Prueitt.

Registration for the Foodservice Conference and Expo is still open. Register and learn more about this year’s event at pma.com/events/foodservice
