Festival Foods Eggs To Go Cage-Free By 2025

In just nine short years, it may be tough to find an egg that was laid by a caged hen.

On Tuesday, grocer Festival Foods announced it is "working on a plan" to offer only cage-free eggs in its stores by 2025. It's the latest in a procession of companies nationwide that plan to offer eggs reared by chickens that aren't confined in factory-like conditions.

"We've noticed that this has been an industry trend," said Brian Stenzel, Festival's director of community involvement. "The more retailers get on board with (cage-free eggs), the more it makes sense."
