Barbara Toms has been looking for a way to give back to the North Nashville community for a long time.
A former lawyer and longtime member of the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, which her grandfather started, Toms has found the solution via her neighborhood bakery that has garnered a loyal following.
Opened in 2011, Sweet Creations is nearing completion on a relocation and major expansion that will double the bakery’s capacity with the goal of creating 42 full-time jobs over the next three years. Toms is committed to hiring people with criminal backgrounds and those who have difficulty finding stable job opportunities.
