Maxwell Chase Offers Pouch-Filling System

Atlanta, Georgia, March 22, 2010 Maxwell Chase Technologies today announced the availability of its new high speed MCT Absorbent Pouch Filling System which has been specifically designed to automate the process of weighing, filling and sealing fresh cut produce into MCT absorbent pouches, which results in a dramatic improvement in shelf life: 12-18 Days shelf life for Fresh Cut Fruits and Vegetables.

The system comprises of two independent Incline In-feed Conveyors, two Weighing Stations, two Pouch Filling & Sealing stations and is constructed of sani-safe stainless steel. It is easy to load and can receive the fresh cut produce direct from the wash flume/shaker table. This avoids the need to spin dry the fresh cut produce and improves the yield and the quality of the produce.

One of the key advantages of the system is the reduction in the cost of labor for filling, weighing and sealing fresh cut produce. The system can be run using only 2 personnel bringing the cost of labor down to cent per lb. One of the consistent feedbacks I get from customers, is that our absorbent pouches give superior results over ribbed bottom trays but they are difficult to fill. The new MCT Absorbent Pouch Filling System solves this problem and provides a cost effective packaging solution, said Tom Gautreaux, National Sales Director, Maxwell Chase Technologies.

The MCT Absorbent Pouch Filling System weighs, fills and seals 18 pouches per minute using a 5 lb pouch this equates to over 5,000 lbs per hour. The system is flexible and can be adjusted to fill 2.5, 5 and 7 lb pouches.

The system can be seen live at the upcoming United Fresh Produce Association Show in Las Vegas on April 21-22, Booth 226 or a video is available at http://www.maxwellchase.com/PouchFillingSystem.php .
