Bakery, prove the cupcake craze is here to stay?
The former investment bankers and owners of the Beverly Hills bake shop are
opening their first Midwest retail location at 50 East Walton St. in May. But
some wonder whether the cupcake craze will go the way of the dot.com and housing
bubbles.
“Cupcakes are having a moment,” writes Daniel Gross in a recent Slate story.
“Remember what happens after a sugar rush: a crash.”
For now, it looks like Sprinkles is still enjoying the wave.
