Lipman Golf Classic Raises More Than $70,000 For RCMA

NAPLES – Friends of Redlands Christian Migrant Association helped the Immokalee-based nonprofit raise more than $70,000 on Saturday at the annual Lipman Golf Classic.

Twenty-one foursomes competed in the tournament, held this year at the redesigned Naples Heritage Golf & Country Club. A team sponsored by Tropicana won.

RCMA operates 69 child-care centers and three charter schools for low-income families in Florida’s rural areas. RCMA has enjoyed longstanding support from Florida farm corporations because its services are aimed at the children of farm workers.

Proceeds from the Lipman Golf Classic, RCMA’s largest fundraising event, help the agency provide matching funds required of an operating grant from the Florida Office of Early Learning. Each dollar raised by RCMA is matched by $16 from the state.

In southwest Florida, RCMA operates seven child-care centers and Immokalee Community School in Collier County, and another child-care center in Lee County’s Bonita Springs.
