For the 33rd consecutive year, The Produce Connection's President Bruce Fishbein has rallied up the support of fellow Florida produce colleagues for the Don Strock Diabetes Golf Classic — a fundraiser presented by Dade Media & Arthur H. Hertz and benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI).
Supporting this event through sponsorships and participation with The Produce Connection are Global Perishable Services LLP, Southern Corporate Packers, King Ocean Services, Sierra Produce, Sotolongo Farms, M & R Produce Distributors, Mr. Greens Produce, and Quality First Produce.
“I’m thankful for their support of this great cause and event all these years,” Fisbein noted. “When it comes it comes to raising money to cure diabetes, there is no competition in our industry, only unity. And it always feels like family here.”
Fishbein, along with his event co-host and longtime friend Miami Dolphins legend Don Strock, his produce colleagues, and NFL pros from past and present, have helped raise nearly $3-million to date for the cure-focused work underway at the DRI.
The tournament – which each year pairs amateur golfers with NFL greats – kicks off Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Miccosukee Golf & Country Club located at 6401 Kendale Lakes Drive in Miami – with registration starting at 10 a.m. followed by lunch, a Noon shotgun tee off, a cocktail hour and an awards dinner to wrap up the day.
