Sensient Flavors Pulling Out Of Indianpolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Three years after announcing a major restructuring, a food and beverage flavoring company says it plans to close its Indianapolis facility. In a notice to the state, Sensient Flavors LLC says 86 employees are expected to lose their jobs by the end of the year.

The company, which is a subsidiary of Wisconsin-based Sensient Technologies Corp., opened a new division headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Hoffmann Estates in 2013. The ensuing division headquarters shift and company-wide streamlining led to 125 Marion County layoffs in 2013.

Separations in Indianapolis are expected to be permanent and will begin in at the end of the July.
