San Antonio-based H-E-B Grocery Co. has finalized plans for its first multilevel store in the Houston area.
The company will build the new store at the site of its current Bellaire location, 5130 Cedar, which opened in 1994. Construction of the new store is expected to begin in early 2017, and a grand opening is scheduled for fall 2017.
H-E-B’s internal design and construction team will design the store, but an external contractor has not been selected yet.
The two-story building will be more than double the size of the current 20,000-square-foot store, and a two-story garage will expand parking. The new store will feature expanded and new departments offering products and services tailored to Bellaire-area shoppers.
