PHARR — Andres Zuniga thinks Pharr is about to erupt.
That’s why Zuniga, president of Evergreen Cold Storage, plans to invest $20 million toward an improved 130,000-square-foot facility in Pharr. Two other cold storage businesses, Interenlace Group’s IMAS Fresh and Spring Valley Produce, will also invest in operations in Pharr.
The three cold storage facilities investments will total $52 million, which Pharr officials estimated at a Thursday news conference will have a $117 million economic impact. Pharr sees 177 new jobs being created by these new investments.
