Sacramento, Calif. — The Sacramento Kings announced a new Legacy Partnership with Raley’s Family of Fine Stores, a locally operated, major grocery chain best known for high quality products, fresh produce, fine meats and outstanding customer service. In partnership with Raley’s, the Kings will bolster their ongoing commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle throughout the Sacramento region.
As the official Grocery Partner of the Sacramento Kings, Raley’s will join the Kings as they move to Golden 1 Center and provide fans with fresh, locally sourced food. Two Raley’s kiosks will provide alternative options like fresh fruit and vegetables from local farms, as well as fresh juices and nutritious snacks. This announcement builds on a recently announced Golden 1 Center food and sustainability charter which lays out 10 guiding principles that will drive the Kings efforts to educate fans on sustainability and nutrition, benefit the region and reduce our impact on the environment.
“This new partnership with Raley’s is an extension of our commitment to sustainability and demonstrates the impact that local businesses can have on a community,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “Together, we’ll be able to highlight local sources that offer high-quality produce and promote the benefits of healthy selection in and out of the arena.”
Raley’s will also team up with the Kings Foundation through community impact programs designed to educate and invest in food literacy, regional garden planning and nutritional options.
“We look forward to partnering with the Kings to enhance our service and support for the greater Sacramento community,” said Michael Teel, Owner and Chief Executive Officer, Raley’s. “Our partnership will enable Raley’s to continue extending our reach outside of our store locations; throughout the region, into more communities, educating and extending food options for everyone, allowing individuals to make the choices right for them and their health.”
Beyond the partnership, Michael has joined the Golden 1 Center Food Sourcing Steering Committee, dedicated to helping the Kings identify local producers committed to sustainability and quality, and local philanthropist Julie Teel will work with the Kings Foundation to extend the #DoGood spirit throughout the region.
