Dairy Food Manufacturer Johanna Foods Extends CHEP Contract

FLEMINGTON, N.J.– Johanna Foods, a state-of-the-art food manufacturer,
announced today that it has signed a multi-year contract with CHEP, the global
leader in equipment pooling. The companys popular La Yogurt and Sabor Latino
yogurt lines, Earthwise beverages, Ssips beverages and Tree Ripe juices are
shipped on CHEP pallets to supermarkets, warehouse club stores, convenience
stores, wholesalers, dairy distributors and independent grocery store
organizations across the country.

.Johanna Foods has been using CHEP pallets for its beverage business since 2005
and in its yogurt business since 2007. The company originally moved to CHEP
after using a pallet exchange system for shipping to customers and experiencing
pallet quality, product damage and supply issues. The move to automating its
production facilities also required Johanna Foods to use a highly consistent
platform.

CHEP has delivered better productivity and customer service for both our yogurt
and beverage divisions by providing us with a pallet that works extremely well
in our automated systems. CHEP is also an integral part of our environmental
efforts, helping us reduce our overall carbon footprint, said Steve Steigerwalt,
Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management & Business Development at Johanna
Foods.

Steigerwalt added the CHEP program had positive synergies with other
sustainability projects at Johanna Foods. Based on third-party Life-Cycle
Inventory Analysis findings, through its use of the CHEP pooling system as
opposed to limited-use whitewood pallets, the company is reducing solid waste
generation associated with shipping platforms by six million pounds per year,
decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by 58% and saving enough energy to power
more than 500 homes with electricity for a year.*

Johanna Foods is a very innovative company and continues to view the CHEP
program as an important element in both its product handling and sustainability
improvement programs. For our part, CHEP is committed to providing Johanna Foods
with the best possible service and the highest quality shipping platform each
and every day, said Tim Smith, Vice President, New Business Development, CHEP
USA.
