March 19th, 2010, Salinas, CA Colorful Harvest, one of the fastest growing produce operations on Californias central coast, held a ribbon cutting ceremony and VIP reception today to celebrate the grand opening of its new headquarters at 584 South Main Street, Salinas, CA 93901. The move makes Colorful Harvest the first produce company of its size to establish its headquarters in the heart of downtown Salinas.
Colorful Harvest chose one of the most distinguished buildings in downtown Salinas for their new headquarters to make a statement of their support for the community. Doug Ranno, COO and managing partner of Colorful Harvest said, We could have stayed outside the city limits like other produce companies, but were a local business at heart. Moving downtown will help boost the citys economy, and moves us closer to our new cooler operations, banking, restaurants and other conveniences.
Dennis Donohue, Mayor of Salinas, participated in the ribbon cutting and officially welcomed Colorful Harvest to the downtown Salinas business community. Id like to thank Colorful Harvest for their contribution to the revitalization of Downtown Salinas, said Donohue.
Ranno attributes the companys consistent growth year after year to a diversified product strategy, year round product availability from multiple growing regions, and a customer centered approach to business.

The new headquarters building, with over 5,400 square feet of office space, will provide better accommodations for their growing staff and improved IT infrastructure for managing widespread operations. The buildings layout features a central sales area surrounded by administrative and managerial support. The open architecture gives us the interaction our team enjoys. The companys diversified product line includes strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cantaloupes, honeydews & Athena melons, Ruby JewelTM sweet red corn, Rainbow CrunchTM Carrots, orange, purple and green cauliflower, purple broccoli, select Blue Lake style beans, and avocados. The company has recently expanded its strawberry acreage in Florida and Mexico to meet growing demand.
