Wyoming-Based Cooperative Pays $8.5M For JBS USA Greeley Lamb Plant

GREELEY — The Mountain States Lamb Cooperative paid $8.5 million for the meat-processing facility it has been leasing at 920 N. 7th Ave. in Greeley, according to public records.

Through the entity Mountain States Rosen LLC, the Douglas, Wyo.-based cooperative, a lamb and veal meat processor, bought the JBS Greeley Lamb plant from JBS USA Holdings Inc.’s entity Swift Beef Co.

Announced in November, the deal allows the cooperative’s members to control all stages of the production: raising, harvesting, processing, packaging, marketing and distributing.
