How La Boulange Founder's Latest Acquisition Could Help Grow His New Ventures

Several months after La Boulange founder Pascal Rigo revealed that he would reopen the chain as La Boulangerie de San Francisco, he has reacquired the 70,000 square-foot production bakery in South San Francisco he used previously to supply his former bakery businesses and wholesale clients.

The bakery at 320B Shaw Road in South San Francisco had previously housed operations for Rigo’s wholesale baking business under his Bay Bread Co., the La Boulange bakeries, and then for Starbucks’ (NASDAQ: SBUX) food operations when the coffee giant purchased the bakery chain for $100 million in 2012.
