CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J. — For the 12th consecutive year, the American Vegetarian Association (AVA) has awarded Eggland's Best eggs their Global Certification, assuring vegetarians that they can trust Eggland's Best products to be certified vegetarian based on the highest of standards.

"At the American Vegetarian Association, we take our responsibility to give vegetarian-minded people the confidence in their food selections very seriously," said Len Torine, Executive Director of the American Vegetarian Association. "This means we only honor healthy, quality products that meet our strict vegetarian guidelines. We have continued to certify Eggland's Best because their commitment to providing customers with the best quality products supports what we believe in as an organization."

Eggland's Best is the first and only egg brand be certified by the AVA.  The certification of Eggland's Best eggs from the AVA provides customers with the assurance that when they purchase Eggland's Best eggs, they are purchasing the best vegetarian products.

"At Eggland's Best, we hold our products to the highest standards to ensure we are providing our customers the best tasting and most nutritious egg in the world," says Charlie Lanktree, President and CEO of Eggland's Best. "It is truly an honor to again be the only egg certified by the American Vegetarian Association and we will continue to strive for this recognition every year."

Eggland's Best eggs are nutritionally superior to ordinary eggs as they have 25 percent less saturated fat, 10 times more vitamin E, four times more vitamin D, three times more vitamin B12, more than double the Omega-3 fatty acids, and 38 percent more lutein. This is due to the proprietary all-vegetarian hen feed, which contains healthy grains, canola oil, and a wholesome supplement of rice bran, alfalfa, and sea kelp. In addition, an independent study in the Journal of Applied Poultry Research showed that Eggland's Best eggs stay fresher longer than ordinary eggs.

Eggland's Best eggs are available in their Classic Large, Extra Large, Jumbo, Organic and Cage-Free shell varieties, as well as Hard-Cooked Peeled Egg and Liquid Egg Whites varieties.
