Belfast-headquartered dairy giant Dale Farm has increased turnover past the £300m mark despite coming up against a number of challenges. The company also hailed the impact of two recent acquisitions but lamented falling milk prices which had an adverse impact on its profits.
Dale Farm is part of the United Dairy Farmers Group and distributes its products to 45 countries. The company has operations throughout the UK and Ireland and makes butter, cheese and cream.
For the year to 31 March 2015, the company posted turnover of £320m, compared with £293m for the 12 months before. However, pre-tax profit fell from £4m to £10,000.
