The theme chosen by the organisers of the 34th International Nursery Trade Fair Plantarium is "Show it!". This theme offers participants the opportunity to show off their range and present it at Plantarium. The event will take place from 24 to 27 August 2016.
"This is more than just a chance to show each other the pick of our products", says the Foundation's chairman Jan Willem Griep, "we can also show just how much more we can do, as well as our strength in depth". His expectation is that the "Show it!" theme will inspire participants to use Plantarium to present themselves to an international audience from their sector.
Practical Day for the horticultural sector
At Plantarium we have also been busy following up on initiatives launched last year.
The collaboration with Groen-Direkt is gathering momentum and we are adding a new event to Plantarium, a practical day for the green (spaces) sector.
This event will take place on Friday 26 August and will provide an exciting meeting point for our sectoral partners with a passion for green public spaces. Exchanging information and providing inspiration are central to the day.
Nurserymen and growers, landscape architects and tree nurserymen, tree surgeons and tree workers, retailers, wholesalers, students and apprentices from horticultural education will gather together to discuss the market, clients, threats and opportunities, and how their business functions in the market. "This will be a fascinating day with a high 'do-content'", says Griep. The impetus to expand Plantarium in this direction came from the fact that the public are increasingly being given the opportunity to exercise their influence on public greenery. "Many of our participants are also active in the green spaces sector, so this way we are killing two birds with one stone".
