The Cameo Apple Marketing Association (CAMA) is introducing a new May promotion appealing to
consumers looking for a new idea on how to celebrate Mothers Day.
CAMA has designed instore signage and recipe pads featuring an omelet filled with Cameo apples and Brie
cheese for use on retail shelves during the weeks leading up to Mothers Day.
This new Cameo promotion gives retailers a turn-key promotion to drive late season sales, the key to strong
total annual apple sales performance said Kevin Precht, CAMA Director of Marketing.
By offering a new and different usage suggestion for Cameo apples, this promotion appeals to consumers
looking to broaden their apple experience, Precht continued.
The promotion consists of a 11×7 POP sign and a 100-sheet 5×3 recipe tear off pad, with an adhesive
backing.
Cameo apple sales were up by 38.7% in the US in second quarter of 2009, compared to second quarter 2008.
Spring is a significant opportunity to grow apple category sales by emphasizing the Cameo variety.
