The Meat Institute will add a panel discussing the recent International Agency for Research on Cancer's (IARC) classification of red and processed meats as cancer hazards during a networking breakfast on November 4, 2015, at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. The breakfast is part of the Meat Institute's inaugural Annual Meeting and Outlook Conference . The panel will feature NAMI's Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Janet Riley, Senior Vice President of Legislative Affairs Pete Thomson and Vice President of Scientific Affairs Betsy Booren, Ph.D. The session will provide an overview of IARC's decision, its implications and the Institute's ongoing efforts to respond to and share resources with the media and consumers. NAMI staff also will answer questions about the decision and ongoing efforts from session attendees.
