Hanford slaughterhouse Central Valley Meat Co. temporarily shut down on Thursday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
A statement from the government agency said the meat packing plant's operation was "halted" after an employee "impeded food safety inspection."
The statement indicated that inspectors have to be working "at all times" in order for the facility to conduct business.
