Rogers Collection Features Spanish Imports At 10th Annual Starchefs International Chefs Congress

Portland, ME— Rogers Collection is showcasing outstanding products from five award winning Spanish producers at the 10th Annual StarChefs International Chefs Congress (ICC). The ICC Conference, which is celebrating its 10th year, is celebrating Spanish Cuisine. For three days, October 25 -27, chefs from across the country will congregate at the Brooklyn Expo Center to demonstrate the future of food and drink, featuring some of the industry's most respected chefs for Cooking Demonstrations, Workshops, Seminars, and Business Panels. Rogers Collection will feature:

Queseria Artesenal de Pravia Rey Silo (Rojo and Blanco), a traditional Asturian cheese dating back to the year 798, made from raw cow's milk. Aged in cellars on the banks of the Nalon River, this is a firm, surfaced ripened cheese.

Finca Pascualete Mini Torta, a handcrafted cheese made from the raw milk of Merino sheep, grazed on 4000 hectares at the Finca estate. Located in an optimal environment, this is one of the largest private properties in the southeastern part of Spain. Finca’s flock grazes on a variety of arboreal species, natural grasses, wild flowers and indigenous herbs that grow naturally in the pastures and this diversity contributes to exceedingly high quality and rich milk. Pasamontes Manchego, one of the oldest producers of DOP Manchego cheeses, run by Dolores

Pasamontes and established in 1896 by Dolores’ great grandmother. This cheese has a natural rind and subtle, delicate flavors. Vinagres de Yema Sherry Vinegars, the Terry Family has been working in the sherry business since 1750, first in wine and more recently in vinegar. In the early 1990's, they acquired 100-year-old barrels of forgotten vinegar and used this to start producing their own sherry vinegar. Cepa Vieja Sherry Vinegar (containing solera of 20 years old)-and Tierra Vieja Organic Sherry Vinegar.

Marques de Valdueza EVOO & Red Wine Vinegar, located on the Alvarez de Toledo family estate, produces two award winning extra virgin olive oils: Marques de Valdueza and Merula. Using a blend of four olives Arbequina, Picual, Hojiblanca, and a unique olive called Morisca, the resulting oils are distinctly fresh and fruity with hints of almonds, pepper, and green almond.
