With the most drastic drop in cattle market prices since the early nineteen seventies, beef lovers are wondering when they’ll be reaping the benefits. Lower retail beef prices should be on the way to consumers. Pete Scarmardo is a rancher and cattle buyer.
“We’ve hurt our demand some too, because we’ve had such high beef prices.”
Scarmardo says that historically high retail beef prices made consumers, as well as food service establishments, look for alternatives to beef.
