For the last 50 years, ABC Cake Decorating Supplies has been a go-to resource for professional, semi-pro and amateur cake crafters.
But not everyone was so easily convinced the little Phoenix specialty shop that Barbara Pela’s parents opened in 1965 , had decades worth of staying power.
Barbara met her husband of 37 years, Dave Pela , co-owner of ABC, while both were students at Arizona State University. When Dave’s friends found out what his future bride’s parents did for a living, they did a verbal double take.
