The jobs of approximately 900 supermarket workers are in jeopardy around the holiday season.
All Employees at A&P, Pathmark, and Superfresh supermarkets in Monmouth and Ocean Counties were issued WARN notices, which are required by law, that they will be let go by Thanksgiving, according to filings issued to the New Jersey Department of Labor.
The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July, saying it wanted to sell 120 of its stores and close 25 more.
